Partial ETH staking, powered by Coinbase Cloud, is now available in MEW web for users of MEW wallet, Enkrypt, and other mobile, browser, and hardware wallets. Stake with no minimum amount and start earning rewards today!

ETH staking is one of the best opportunities in crypto: it’s simple, low-risk, and doesn’t require spending hours on subreddits or Discord servers. However, too many ETH holders are still not taking advantage of it.

Why not?

  • The staking of a full validator requires 32 ETH, and most crypto holders don’t have that amount of ETH available.
  • The staking of smaller amounts is possible through decentralized web3 applications (dApps), but many users – especially newbies – are not comfortable venturing beyond their familiar crypto wallet.
  • Staking ETH used to mean that it would be locked for an indefinite period of time, and some ETH holders still think that’s the case. They are unwilling to lock up their ETH if they won’t be able to unstake any time.
  • Both full validator staking and no-minimum liquid staking models can be complicated for inexperienced users.
  • Some centralized exchanges offer ETH staking of any amount, but users who prefer self-custody may not want to keep their ETH on an exchange or to make a new account just for the purpose of staking.

For ETH staking to gain wider adoption, the process would need to be super simple, easy to manage, and available from any wallet. Coinbase has onboarded millions of people into crypto in the past 10 years, and now it’s helping to make ETH staking simple and accessible for users of any wallet.

Partial ETH staking powered by Coinbase Cloud

Coinbase Cloud is a staking infrastructure provider that allows self-custody wallets to bring no-minimum ETH staking directly to their users.

MyEtherWallet is one of the first wallets to integrate partial ETH staking powered by Coinbase Cloud in our MEW web interface. That means users of pretty much any wallet – a browser extension, a mobile app supporting WalletConnect, or a hardware wallet like Ledger and Trezor – can connect to MEW and start staking any amount of ETH with just a few clicks, while retaining full custody of their assets.

This integration makes ETH staking more accessible and flexible than ever.

  • Staking takes just a few minutes, and the stake begins earning rewards right away, compounding automatically.
  • ETH can be unstaked and re-staked at any time.
  • Staking operations happen onchain via audited smart contracts and all transactions are verifiable on the blockchain. No need to sacrifice transparency and decentralization for convenience! With this solution, you can have it all.

Start staking today

Go to MyEtherWallet.com and connect your wallet. MEW supports connection with any browser extension, any mobile wallet that has WalletConnect, and many hardware wallets. (If you don't have a wallet yet, download MEW wallet app or try the Enkrypt browser extension!)

On the MEW dashboard, select Stake on the left-side menu, and then click on ETH Staking Powered by Coinbase Cloud.

Enter the amount of ETH you’d like to stake, click Start Staking, and confirm on your connected wallet. That’s it! Your ETH is staked and earning rewards. You can come back to MEW at any time to check your staking status, your earned rewards, or to withdraw your ETH.
